Dear Friends,

Change is hard for a lot of elders. Changing locations, routines, caregivers, and food choices are a big deal for seniors in long-term care communities. Putting on our happy faces is always a good idea. We communicate by our body language about 90% of the time. We can speak volumes with just a gesture, or a look, or especially a hug. These kinds of non-verbal communications convey heart-felt empathy and validation louder than words ever could. Smiling is a wonderful way to show how much you care and want to assist, and often opens new doors to friendships, acceptance, and trust.

Special Note: The St. Mark Support group will not be meeting Tuesday April 3rd – due to renovations in that building.
